𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (6th week) Teaching practice - week 6 (18th to 22nd August) This week marked the commencement of the first-term Onam examinations at our school. As part of our training responsibilities, we were assigned duties in the examination hall. Since the examinations were in progress, no other regular classroom activities or school programmes took place during this period. Being on examination duty was indeed a new and insightful experience for me. It gave me an opportunity to observe the discipline and seriousness with which examinations are conducted in the school setting. More than just invigilation, it was a chance to understand the importance of fairness, vigilance, and responsibility that teachers must uphold during such crucial times. This experience also helped me realize that teaching is not confined to the classroom alone; it extends to many other dimensions of school life where teachers play...

Teaching Practice – Week 5 (11th to 16th August) My Fifth Week of Teaching Practice This past week, from August 11th to August 16th, was another beautiful and productive one. I was able to maintain a good relationship with the students and create a friendly atmosphere in the classroom.  Thursday, August 14th, was the school's election day. I was happy to be a part of the smooth and successful election process. That same afternoon, there was an NSS Trust general body meeting. Before the meeting, Anil sir gave us valuable suggestions and created duty schedules for the upcoming Onam exams. Friday, August 15th, was a holiday for us, the student teachers, for Independence Day. The school management held a small celebration where only students from Red Cross and Little Kites participated in the flag hoisting. Since Saturday was declared a working day by the government, the students were given a study holiday in preparation for the Onam exams starting on August 18t...

On Monday, as Indu was unwell, we handled her classes along with our, which gave me more opportunities to interact with different students. With the Onam examinations approaching, we were all busy completing our lessons and providing notes, ensuring that students were well prepared. Tuesday was special, as Anil Sir, our high school English teacher, organized Kutti Karshakakoottam (Little Farmers’ Garden). The students enthusiastically planted cassava saplings, watered them, and learned about farming in a hands-on way. Wednesday, August 6, marked Hiroshima Day. Teaching Practice Reflection week 2 (28/07/2025 - 01/08/2025) This week began on a pleasant note with a cheerful mood, though there was slight tension as we suspected our teachers might come for observation.  On Monday, we met two M.Ed. students who had come to conduct research as part of their curriculum. We had a friendly and engaging conversation with them, and they were very delighted to interact with us. On Wednesday, our general teacher Deepa ma'am came for class observation. She observed my teaching methods and classroom management. In the afternoon, a quiz program named  Swadesh Mega Quiz 2025  was conducted for the students and also our teachers Shimitha ma'am and shylasree ma'am joined the school for optional observation in Malayalam and Social Science. On Thursday morning, our optional teacher, Rajasree Ma'am, visited for class observation. She evaluated my lesson delivery and the subject-specific pedagogy, and also pointe...

🗓️ Weekly Blog – Second Week of Teaching Practice Teaching Practice Reflection week 2 (21/07/2025 - 25/07/2025) On Monday, The week started off really well. We were full prepared because we heard that  from this week onwards our teachers will be coming soon to observe our classes . This made us excited but also a bit nervous. In the evening, we got some sad news — V. S. Achuthanandan, the former Chief Minister of Kerala, had passed away. It was a big loss for the state. On Tuesday, the government declared a public holiday to honor V. S. Achuthanandan, so there was no school.  On Wednesday we went to school expecting an observation, so I had prepared well for the class. The day was good overall. Unfortunately, my friend Indu got a throat infection. During our free period, we took her to the hospital with the headmistress’s permission. Thankfully, she was alright .Thursday was a public holiday due to KARKKIDAKAVAAVU. On Friday ,we suspected a...

Teaching Practice Reflection: Week 1 (14/07/2025 – 18/07/2025) The first phase of our third-semester B.Ed. teaching practice began on July 14, 2025, and I was fortunate to be placed at NSS H.S.S. Choorakkod. This week was truly enriching and memorable. I had the opportunity to handle several classes and made learning more engaging and student-friendly by using teaching aids like charts, activity cards, and pictures. One of the highlights of the week was the Thursday school assembly at 10 a.m., where we joined the teachers and actively participated in organizing and supporting the event. It was a wonderful experience to see the students confidently take part, and we felt proud to guide and motivate them. Throughout the week, we were also involved in various school activities, which gave us a deeper understanding of the day-to-day life of a school. This exposure helped us connect better with the students and understand their learning needs. Despite some physical challenges, I was able...
